The Still Point of the Turning World Book Review

The Still Point of the Turning World

By: Emily Rapp

Genre: Memoir

This book wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be more personal and more of a story. I thought it would describe their lives from finding out of Ronan’s illness to after his passing. This book was actually published around the same time he passed away and ends before his passing. I wasn’t expecting that. While this book did have some story elements, it was mainly about the author reading literature, attending mediation classes, speaking with doctors, etc. to explore and try to understand grief, death, and loss. It was very philosophical and full of quotes. The book did give me some interesting things to think about and perspectives to ponder, but it wasn’t what I expected it to be.
