I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I was really excited when I got an email from Tracie Bannister requesting that I review her new book, Twin Piques. I read her book, In Need of Therapy early last year and really enjoyed it. I think I got it free on Kindle and you never can tell with those books, so hers surprised me, in a GOOD way. I enjoyed Twin Piques just as much!
Twin Piques is about two twins with very different personalities. Willa is the dreamer and the romantic one, who works as a pet psychic. Sloane works in finance and is very focused on her career, with no eye on romance. Willa meets a handsome rose expert, Brody, in the beginning of the book that she hires to fix her grandmother’s garden, but there is a disturbing secret that challenges their romance. Sloane is also in for a surprise regarding her “friends with benefits” relationship with a co-worker.
I loved the two different characters of Sloane and Willa. Truly, Willa was my favorite. She was adorable! Everyone needs a positive, spunky, and cheerful person like her in their life. Sloane was on the other extreme end. I enjoyed reading her story, though I didn’t relate to her as much as I did to Willa. Their relationship was another highlight of this book. They stuck together through thick and thin and their opposite personalities played well off of each other. I adored the love interests in this book! They were very different, but both completely swoon-worthy. Each man seemed well suited for the woman he was opposite. On a side note, Bannister highlighted some really interesting and diverse careers in this book- Willa is a pet psychic, their friend, Gav, writes comic books, and Brody is a rose expert.
I loved the writing style of the book! It was fun and light-hearted chick lit that pulled me in right away. The plot was fast moving and it kept my interest throughout. I would highly recommend this book to fans of chick lit! 4/5 chickadees singing!
