Man Crush Monday- Abbot
Remember my book review on The Art of Adapting here? Remember how before that we met the author here? I really enjoyed the book, as evidenced by my review. In this book, the main character, Lana, has a few different possible love matches. The first is a former high school boyfriend, who is now a police officer. Although he is handsome, he is a little bit “intense” and loses his cool when Lana’s brother with Asperger’s, Matt, runs away. The next love interest is a teacher at the school where Lana substitutes. He’s quite a bit younger than Lana and intensely active. When he invites her to yoga, she discovers he’s a flirt to everyone, not just her, and that he’s in a different time of life than she is. However, she also meets Abbot.
Abbot is closer to Lana’s age and he is a smart and sensitive man. I love how Abbot is laid-back. He’s incredibly wise and offers her good advice, without being pushy. I love how in the book, Lana had other, more “interesting” choices (police officer, younger man), but in the end, the dependable, easygoing guy was the one who was best for her. That’s why Abbot is our Man Crush Monday!
