A Manor in Cornwell

A Manor in Cornwell

I reviewed two of Laura Brigg’s novellas here. Both books were about Julianne, who becomes a wedding coordinator in Cornwell. I’m excited to announce that another book in the series is coming out titled A Manor in Cornwell. Check out more information on the book below!

A Manor in Cornwall Blurb:

Now that Julianne’s happily ending is secure, her career as Cliffs House’s event planner is suddenly busier than ever. Thanks to a Cornish singing sensation’s upcoming concert at Cliffs House, and her promise to plan the perfect wedding for Pippa, Julianne hasn’t a moment to spare for Matthew or his plans for a weekend outing at Pencarrow. But she’s determined to find a way without letting down Ceffylgwyn for its big moment, or disappointing Pippa on the biggest day of her friend’s life.

With a starstruck crew of volunteers, a persistent American event planner, and a seemingly ill-chosen assistant in the form of the village’s former troublemaker, Julianne has her hands full, as usual. And it will take all of her friends, a few surprise twists, and — of course — her beloved Matthew to see her through it.

Author Bio:

Laura Briggs is the author of several women’s fiction and chick lit novels, with themes that range from wedding planning to modern Jane Austen. Even though she tends to write stories with a romance theme, as a reader she has a soft spot for mysteries, including those by Agatha Christie and Mary Roberts Rinehart. She also enjoys books by Jane Austen, Anne Tyler, Amy Tan, and too many others to name. In her free time, she likes to experiment with new recipes and tries to landscape her yard (a never-ending project).

Outward Blonde Waiting on Wednesday

Outward Blonde

By Trish Cook

Genre: Young Adult

Today, we are excited to feature a young adult book with a hilarious premise! We can’t wait for it to come out on October 18. Check it out!

Book Summary

Teen socialite Lizzie Finklestein has all the qualities of a trainwreck in the making.  With a physically absent father, an emotionally absent mother, and an addiction to shopping and hard partying she can’t seem to shake, Lizzie is on a certain path to destruction.  Rock bottom finally comes when one of her public drunken escapades gets caught on camera and shared with gossip sites.

Lizzie’s parents decide it’s time for a change of scenery.  They have her whisked away from her Manhattan penthouse apartment in the middle of the night and dropped at Camp Smiley, a gritty wilderness survival program for troubled teens deep in the Rocky Mountains.  Surrounded by a motley crew of campers all facing their own demons, she’s convinced she has nothing in common with these misfits.

Lizzie must learn to survive in the harsh conditions of the outdoors, including how to dig her own toilet and build a fire by rubbing two sticks together.  Lizzie feels that she’s only left with two options: get with the program, or get out of there.

Waiting on Wednesday- Stepdog

Title: Stepdog: A Novel

Author: Nicole Galland

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Pages: 416

Published: By Harper Collins Publishers on Aug. 4, 2015

Stepdog pb c

I’m so excited for the book, “Stepdog,” by Nicole Galland. As you guys know, and can see below, I am a total dog lover. This is me with my sweet boy, Bentley! I was automatically intrigued by the title. The book came out August 4th, but I haven’t had the opportunity to read it yet, so I’m making it a Waiting on Wednesday post! Make sure to check it out on Amazon if interested!

From the author of The Fool’s Tale and I, Iago comes a disarmingly charming and warm-hearted “romcom” about a woman, her dog, and the man who has to prove he’s good enough for both of them.

In NICOLE GALLAND’S STEPDOG (on sale August 8, 2015; ISBN 9780062369475; $14.99) Sara Renault fires Rory O’Connor from his part-time job at a Boston art museum, and in response, Rory—an Irish actor secretly nursing a crush on his beautiful boss—throws caution to the wind, leans over, and kisses her.  Now Sara and Rory are madly in love.

When Rory’s visa runs out on the cusp of his big Hollywood break, Sara insists that he marry her to get a green card. In a matter of weeks they’ve gone from being friendly work colleagues to a live-in couple, and it’s all grand . . . except for Sara’s dog, Cody, who had been a gift from Sara’s sociopath ex-boyfriend. Sara’s over-attachment to her dog is the only thing she and Rory fight about.

When Rory scores both his green card and the lead role in an upcoming TV pilot, he and Sara (and Cody) prepare to move to Los Angeles. But just before their departure, Cody is kidnapped by Sara’s ex—and it is entirely Rory’s fault. Sara is furious and broken-hearted. Desperate to get back into Sara’s good graces, Rory takes off and tracks Cody and the dog-napper to North Carolina. Can Rory rescue Cody and convince Sara that they belong together—with Cody—as a family? First they’ll need to survive a madcap adventure that takes them all across the heartland of America. STEPDOG is a refreshing and hilarious romantic comedy that asks: How far would you go for the one you love?

Waiting on Wednesday- Go Set a Watchman

Waiting on Wednesday- Go Set a Watchman

I’m so excited!!!!!! It’s amazing to get a sequel of sorts to a classic book so long after it was written. Have you heard the news? Harper Lee wrote Go Set a Watchman about Scout as an adult woman, which included flashbacks of her childhood. Her editor had her write a book of Scout as a child and the classic To Kill A Mockingbird was born. All we really know so far about Go Set a Watchman is that it features some of the characters from To Kill A Mockingbird, but as adults 20 years later. I LOVE To Kill A Mockingbird when I read it in high school and it definitely had an impact on the way I viewed the world. I’m so excited to read Harper Lee’s “new” book!!
