I was once told by an eccentric photographer that “redheads rule the world by the powers of their ginger sorcery.”
I don’t disagree.
I am a proud ginger, cupcake connoisseur, recovering coffee addict, Beatles lover, and bibliophile.
As an only child, books became my friends. The boxcar children, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Nancy Drew all became my playpals. On my thirteenth birthday, I received Princess Diaries as a gift, and my love of the young adult genre was born. My college experience was only survived with the help of fluffy and whimsical paperbacks to break up the monotony of my public policy courses. And now, as a young, working professional, novels are the surest way to escape after a long day.
My love language is books. I’ve told my husband that if he ever screws up epically, his best chance of fixing the situation is to hand me a Barnes & Noble gift card with an apology, and all will be forgiven.
I am a fan of sassy heroines, swoony guys, and good old political intrigue. I’d rather laugh than cry, but then again, “laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.” (Points if you can name that movie quote!)
If you give me a great book recommendation and a red velvet cupcake, you will be my new best friend. Or, ya know, follow me on twitter and I’ll be your friend anyways.
Book nerds, unite!
